LIFE

From being born, to being a toddler,
Growing into a teenager, finally becoming an adult.
Finding someone you think you love,
Marrying, and going out into the world,
Having your own child, seeing her grow,
Then another child is born.
Death strikes, I lose my second child to God,
Can I go on with life, I am numb
For a very long time.
Thankful for my daughter, watching her become a young lady,
My life begins to focus, I want the best for her.
My marriage fails, I find that I was never in love,
I move on in life, my daughter has grown
Into a young woman, I am still struggling.
Life, I have to go on.

Vase of Roses

Waiting for You

Walking along the city sidewalks,
The cold crisp autumn air against my face,
Stepping on fallen leaves
I wait for you.

Those same streets I walk along,
And now the snow is flying
My face numb with the bitter cold,
I wait for you.

Taking a walk in the city again,
The spring rain lightly falls,
The flowers are now in full bloom,
I wait for you.

Taking my evening walk,
The sun still shines brightly,
The heat of the day almost ending,
I am still watiting for you.
